Bismuth-Graphene Nanohybrids: Synthesis, Reaction Mechanisms, and Photocatalytic Applications—A Review

Photocatalysis is a classical solution to energy conversion and environmental pollution control problems. In photocatalysis, the development exploration of new visible light catalysts their synthesis modification strategies are crucial. It also essential understand mechanism these reactions in various reaction media. Recently, bismuth graphene’s unique geometrical electronic properties have attracted considerable attention photocatalysis. This review summarizes bismuth-graphene nanohybrids’ synthetic processes with design considerations, fundamental mechanisms action, heterogeneous benefits, challenges. Some key applications discussed, such as CO2 reduction, water splitting, pollutant degradation, disinfection, organic transformations. The detailed perspective research fields presented herein should be equal interest academic industrial scientists.

Well-defined m-BiVO(4) nanoplates with exposed {001} facets have been synthesized by a facile hydrothermal route, without the use of any template or organic surfactant. The as-prepared m-BiVO(4) nanoplates exhibit greatly enhanced activity in the visible-light photocatalytic degradation of organic contaminants and photocatalytic oxidation of water for O(2) generation.
